Trivia GamesTrivia games come in all shapes and sizes. People enjoy testing their knowledge and their abilities to retain random bits of information, which is essentially what trivia games do. They pit players against each other to answer questions from absolutely any subject matter. Trivia games are the basis of game shows, board games, and even restaurant entertainment. Possibly the quintessential trivia game of all time is Trivial Pursuit. With a variety of editions released since the original, it has remained the most popular trivia board game of all time. The premise of the Trivial Pursuit board game is to answer questions correctly from any of six categories and earn a “pie piece” for each category. The first player or team to earn all six wins the game. As technology advances, new trivia games emerge. Trivial Pursuit has its DVD edition to play on a television screen and some companies, such as Bequal have developed similar trivia games to be played in DVD format. Also, due to the largely popular restaurant trivia games that pit one table’s party against another, Buzz Time Trivia is now available. Another television-viewed trivia game, Buzz Time incorporates handheld “buzzers” that players use to be the first to buzz in to try to answer each question correctly. Certain manufacturers haven’t left kids out of the trivia fun either. Disney trivia, Nickelodeon trivia, and Trivial Pursuit for Kids are but a few trivia games available for younger players. For some time, Pringles even jumped on board with their Trivia Print Pringles that featured kids’ questions and answers right on the chip. This had kids playing their own trivia game in lunchrooms across the country. Whatever your pick for play, trivia games can be a fun group game for those who enjoy the quest for knowledge or just showing off their own mental skills. |
